So what's this beta testing about?

In software development, we generally go through a phase of testing referred to as "beta." It means that the software isn't finished, but enough of it is done that people can begin testing it. At some point, companies started doing public beta testing to get a broader set of people working with it to find bugs.

That's what we're doing here at MouseZoom. While most of our photo stuff here works about as expected, the forums are a work in progress. For that reason, we appreciate your help and your patience when something breaks. If you find something that doesn't work, please post a note in our feedback forum.

Thank you for being a part of MouseZoom from the very beginning!

When your looking at photo in "full screen", the button still says "full screen". Was it your intention to toggle that with "exit full screen"?

Not really a big deal. Just caught my eye.

It didn't seem to matter one way or another to me.

The "deep zoom" photos are awesome! I can't wait to see what this site can become. I am a Disney fanatic and I look forward to being a part of this community!!

Small thing I've noticed, and I know you said forums were a work in progress, but when I posted a new topic, the natural place I looked for the "submit" button was right beneath "show signature" - I wound up clicking "Mark forum read" by accident, and had to re-type.

Not a huge deal, and might just be me. I like to at least provide some feedback when I can. :)

What do you mean exactly? I've seen some errors around that, but I can't repro because I don't understand the problem.

Yeah... what e-mail service or program are you using? It looks like it's trashing the URL or trying to format it funny. I think I might know how to trick it, but I'll have to use that e-mail service to try.

I had problems verifying my account as well, I use gmail. Even though it tells me my account isn't verified, I am able to log in.

Same thing here, using Windows Live on Firefox.

I'm not a big mouser, but the site looks great. And deep zoom is really cool. Congratulations on the new addition.

I had the same issue with the verification link saying it had failed (I've already lost the exact message I got, sorry), but the account being created. The verification link in the email looks valid: mousezoom.com/Forums/Account/Verify/XXX4e9XX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXX975XXX787 (X's are replacing some letters and numbers to protect the innocent).

Using FireFox, with all Javascript DISABLED by default (can be enabled on a per-session or per-site basis using the NoScript plug-in, wondering if that's the issue here)

Just a quick update... there's a new build of the forums up now, the most visible improvements being that you can send PM's (still a little rough), and you'll get a plain text box on mobile browsers. Everything else is mostly background stuff.

The rich text bar is still on both in Chrome and on my Android phone.

Well of course it would be in Chrome if you're not on a mobile device. As for your phone, is it identifying itself as mobile? That could be the problem.

Ok, wasn't sure if you had removed it from all browsers or not.

It is. I double checked several other sites which had mobile alternatives, and they automatically detected that it was a mobile browser and redirected to the mobile site.

Same here. I got my keyboard to pop up for a quick second, but it went away as fast as it showed up.

Just a quick update for the forum part of the site...

What you're now reading is on the final bits for POP Forums v9. The significant bugs have been found and crushed, there has been some basic refinement, and we now have a solid jumping off point to further develop it. If you like the forum, and happen to develop for ASP.NET MVC, you can get the source code on CodePlex:
